The laser mini facelift is a minimally invasive procedure which was developed by Dr. Abergel to address the early signs of aging. The procedure can tighten sagging skin and rejuvenate the face. Good candidates for the laser mini lift include men and women who are showing looseness of the skin, a small double chin, or the beginnings of a jowly appearance. The Laser mini lift can also help to prevent excess sagging of the face before it occurs. A facelift or necklift may be better options for more advanced cases. A consultation with Dr. Abergel is the best way to find out if you are a good candidate for the laser mini facelift. During the consultation, he will inform you of the risks and benefits of this procedure and answer any questions that you may have.

Dr. Abergel performs the laser mini facelift in our state-of-the-art, state-licensed surgery center which is adjacent to St. John’s Hospital. Local or twilight anesthesia may be used which is administered by our board-certified anesthesiologist who will also monitor you during the procedure. The small laser incisions are placed by each ear. Liposculpture is then used to restore a  youthful facial contour, sagging skin is lifted, and excess skin is removed. The surgery typically takes two hours to complete. The laser mini facelift may be performed on its own though it is often combined with other procedures for a complete facial rejuvenation, such as laser eyelid surgery, laser or chemical peel, lip augmentation, facial sculpture, tissue glue and/or fat grafting. These procedures can enhance one another for a better end result.

After the laser mini facelift, you will be able to recover in the comfort of your own home or, if you prefer, we have a beautiful recovery center where you can spend the first one or two nights after your surgery. The healing process is generally fast and quite easy with minimal bruising or swelling. Patients are usually able to return to their normal activities within three days.
